The edge banding strips are mostly made of PVC, which can be greatly affected by the environment. In winter, the hardness of PVC strips will increase which causes the adhesion for the glue decreases. And the longer storage time, surface will age; the adhesive strength to the glue is lower. For paper made strips with a small thickness, due to their high toughness and low thickness (such as 0.3mm), will cause the uneven cuts, insufficient bonding strength, and poor trimming performance. So problems such as large waste of edge banding strips and high rework rate are serious.
Buffing unit is used for edgebaner machine polishing wood panel edge, which is made up of two independent electric motors that are equipped with cotton brush (wheels). It makes a easy way to smooth, finish, polish and remove residue glue on top and bottom of the panel surface.
Spraying system is used to spray cleaning agent on the panel that prevents squeezed out glue residue from adhering. The release agent applied at the machine infeed side and the loose glue residue are removed by the application by the cleaning agent and subsequent buffing.

After the edge banding process, sometimes you will find out scratches appeared on the edges. There are so many different ways to damage the surface of the edges (especially high gloss edges), such as sharp corners, dust particle, residue glue as well.

You can find solutions on edge treatment, it is kind of a funtional glue layer made of polypropylene that doesn't "sitck" to the board. OR put on thin film on the surface of the workpiece also prevent the scratch on the edges.
